A re-elected Morrison Government will provide $450,000 for Phase Two of Darlington’s Community Lower Area Master Plan (LAMP) and the Darlington Heritage Walking Trail, which will help to protect and enhance the local environment.
Phase Two of the plan includes regeneration of bushlands near Waylen’s landing, construction of a boardwalk, and completion of pathways.
Liberal Member for Hasluck, Ken Wyatt, said the funding commitment was part of a re-elected Morrison Government’s long-term plan for strong and healthy communities.
“We all know that the local environment is one of the most appealing aspects of our local community, that’s why I’ve been working with the Darlington community who have been fighting hard for the completion of its Lower Area Master Plan,” Minister Wyatt said.
“In 2020-2021, we delivered a $340,000 Federal grant to help support Phase One of the community LAMP and today we’re committing to extending that support for Phase Two.
“These improvements will help shape a better local environment for families in Darlington and encourage residents to maintain a healthy, outdoor lifestyle.
“In addition, we are committing to establishing a heritage walking trail complete with 21 stations with interpretive signage.
“I’d like to acknowledge the ongoing work of the Darlington Community Recreation Advisory Group, the Darlington History Group, Darlington Sports and Recreation Association & Darlington Community Garden in fighting for these community improvements and ensuring Darlington continues to be a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
If re-elected, the Morrison Government will deliver this project in partnership with the Shire of Mundaring.
Only the Morrison Government will continue to deliver a better future for Hasluck, and this is part of our plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
