SUPPORTING A NEW VIETNAMESE CULTURAL CENTRE IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Prime Minister Scott Morrison joined Liberal candidate for Cowan, Vince Connelly today to announce that a re-elected Morrison Government will invest an additional $1.6 million in a new Vietnamese Cultural Centre in Girrawheen.

“This announcement takes the Morrison Government’s total investment in the project to $2.35m, following a $750,000 commitment in 2019,” Mr Connelly said.

“Currently based out of the Koondoola Community Hall, the Vietnamese Community in Australia – WA (VCAWA) have quickly outgrown the space.

“The Vietnamese community in Cowan has long been telling me of the need for their very own centre to congregate and celebrate their rich and vibrant culture.

“Having been out here with the community, I’ve seen first-hand that there just isn’t sufficient space for VCAWA to come together.

“With the Prime Minister’s support, I am thrilled to commit this funding towards the Vietnamese Cultural Centre, which has been made possible with strong economic management by the Morrison Government.

“As a Member of Parliament, I have been working closely with the Vietnamese community and I am proud of the outcomes we have already achieved together. This project is one of the many community-driven outcomes I will deliver as the Member for Cowan.”

Only the Morrison Government will deliver a better future for Cowan, and this is part of our plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future.
