WA Liberals Elect All-Women Leadership Team

The WA Liberal Party today elected Caroline Di Russo as its State President.

Together with State Leader Libby Mettam, and WA Federal Leader Michaelia Cash, this is an historic first all-women leadership team for the Party.

“I thank the Party for endorsing me as its State President”, Miss Di Russo said.

“I look forward to closely working with Libby Mettam and Michaelia Cash as we prepare for the 2025 State and Federal elections.

“We have plenty of work to do – but I know we have a great leadership team in place ready to build a better future for Western Australia.

“Our timeless Liberal values remain fit for purpose. They’re the answer to many of the challenges we must face as a country, and the key to unlocking the enormous potential of our great State and the people within it.

“But only by electing more Liberal voices to Parliament can our values have that positive impact.

WA Liberal Federal Leader Michaelia Cash said “I congratulate Caroline on her well-deserved election as State President.

“I know she has the energy and intellect to successfully lead the Liberal Party of Western Australia, as President, for the crucial years ahead of us.

“This is an historic moment for the Party and I’m proud to be part of the first all-women leadership team – a team put in place purely on merit.

“I look forward to working with both Caroline and Libby to take the Party and the State forward in the coming years”, Senator Cash said.

State Leader Libby Mettam said “I would also like to congratulate Caroline on her successful election, and I am confident her drive, commitment and staunch Liberal values will ensure the party goes from strength to strength over the coming years.

“I look forward to working together as a team with both Caroline and Michaelia to ensure our Liberal members across the State have strong representation on the issues that matter most to them”, Ms Mettam said.
