Having spent her childhood and most of her adult life in rural and regional WA Libby remains a country girl at heart. She and her wine-maker husband Jonathan have lived in Dunsborough for some 15 years, and their two teenage daughters attend local schools. As a past Vice-President of the Dunsborough-Yallingup Chamber of Commerce and a former board member of MacKillop Catholic College, Libby is a passionate advocate for the local business and education sectors.
A degree in Broadcasting from the WA Academy of Performing Arts led to a career in current affairs media. Libby followed this up by pursuing her passion for public policy with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Curtin University, while working as a research officer for a local Liberal Member of Parliament.
Libby is a very strong supporter of regional tourism and industry and is as committed to putting her region on the international stage as she is to strengthening her community locally. As the former publicist for CinefestOz she understands the value in attracting iconic cultural and sporting events to the region. Additionally, with over two decades spent in and around the wine industry she is a vocal supporter of the broader agriculture industry.
Libby is keen to see premium producers of wine, dairy, beef and lamb reach their full potential and in so doing offer meaningful career options for young people, as we take our world class produce abroad.
